Can a clinic have more than one Google Business Profile?

Yes, one for each physical location you operate, but not several for the same address. Google’s guidelines call for one profile per business location. Making extra profiles for each service or practitioner at the same address can get them merged or suspended.

What counts as one location

A location is a place where patients can visit you during stated hours. If your clinic has two sites, each with staff and opening hours, each is eligible for its own profile. A shared office or a virtual address where nobody sees patients does not qualify.

If you run a physiotherapy service and a massage service from the same clinic address, that is still one location. The categories and services on the profile can reflect both, but one profile covers the address.

Setting up several locations properly

For a clinic with more than one site:

  1. Give each location its own profile, with its own address, phone number and hours.
  2. Use the real name of the clinic as on your signage. Don’t add the town or keywords to the name.
  3. Link each profile to its own page on your website, with the address, map, services and a booking link for that site.
  4. Keep details consistent between the profile, the page and your booking software.
  5. Manage them under one account where possible, so you can see and edit all of them.

Many booking tools let you set up separate booking links by location, which helps each profile send patients to the right place. Jane and Cliniko both let you use more than one location in the same account, but check how your plan handles it.

Duplicate profiles

Duplicates often appear when a clinic is renamed, moves or changes owner, or when a staff member creates a profile without knowing one exists. They can split your reviews and confuse patients and Google.

To fix one:

  • Search for your address and name to find every profile.
  • Decide which profile should stay, usually the verified one with reviews.
  • Use Google’s tools to mark the other as a duplicate or request a merge, then check the outcome.
  • Don’t delete a profile with reviews before understanding your options.

Merges can take time and results vary, so go step by step and keep a record of what you asked for.

What about services and practitioners?

A separate profile for each service at the same address is not what the guidelines intend. Individual practitioners may be eligible for their own listing in some cases, but there are conditions. See practitioner listings.

Rules and how they’re applied can change, so check the current Business Profile guidelines before creating more than one profile for an address.

Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.

Questions owners ask

Can I have a profile for my home-based practice?

Possibly, if patients visit or you travel to them and you meet the guidelines. Check the current rules about service-area businesses and whether you want your home address shown.

Do two clinics under one brand need different names?

They share the brand but each profile should use the clinic’s real name as used at that location. Don’t invent different names just to appear twice.

How do I get reviews to move to the right profile?

Reviews are tied to a profile, so ask for new reviews on the correct one. Merging duplicates may combine them, but don’t assume it will.
