The clinic website checklist

Thirty checks, in the order a new patient meets them. Open your site on your phone and tick them off. It takes about half an hour.

How to use it

Use your phone, not your laptop. Pretend you are a new patient, in pain, at 9 pm, and you have never been to your clinic. Score each line: yes, no or partly. Fix the “no” answers first, from the top.

Score at the end: [ ] / 30

A. Booking (the first thing to fix)

  1. There is a Book online button, visible without scrolling, on the homepage.
  2. The same button is in the header or footer of every page.
  3. You can book a first visit in four taps or fewer.
  4. The booking page says which visit type is for new patients.
  5. The booking link works on a phone and doesn’t need an account or an app.
  6. Your Google profile has the same booking link.
  7. If someone can’t book online, the phone number is a tap-to-call link and says when you answer.

B. Phone and speed

  1. The homepage loads in about three seconds on mobile data.
  2. Text is readable without pinching and buttons are easy to tap.
  3. Nothing jumps around while the page loads.
  4. Images are sized for a phone (no huge photos slowing the page).
  5. No pop-ups cover the main content on first load.

C. Trust

  1. Real photos of your clinic and your team, not only stock images.
  2. Practitioner names, credentials and a short plain-language bio.
  3. Google reviews or star rating shown on the site (check your regulator’s rules first).
  4. Your address, hours and phone number are in the footer and match your Google profile.
  5. The site is secure (shows https with a padlock).
  6. A privacy notice link in the footer.

Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.

D. Pages for what you treat

  1. A page for each of your top three to five conditions or services.
  2. Each page says who you help, what a visit involves and has a Book online button.
  3. Pages use patients’ words (“lower back pain”), not only clinical terms.
  4. A “your first visit” page: what to wear, how long, what to bring.
  5. Funding is explained: direct billing, referrals, insurance, or self-pay (as relevant to you).
  6. If you serve more than one area or location, each has its own page.

E. Basics that get missed

  1. Each page has a clear title and a short description for search results.
  2. Your site links to your Google profile, and your profile links to your site.
  3. A way to contact you that doesn’t require a phone call (form or email).
  4. The site is easy to read: good contrast, large text, headings, alt text on images.
  5. Your regulator’s advertising rules have been checked against claims, before-and-afters, offers and testimonials on the site.
  6. You own the domain and can log in to the site yourself. Write down where it lives: ______________

What to do with your score

  • 25 to 30: You’re in good shape. Check reviews and pages every few months.
  • 15 to 24: Fix section A first, then C.
  • Under 15: Don’t rebuild yet. Fix booking, the Google profile and your top three pages first. That is often enough.

Want a second pair of eyes? Claim your marketing audit and we’ll go through your site, Google profile and booking path, then send you a short written list of what to fix first.
