Physiotherapy and chiropractic SEO that gets nearby patients to book
Someone types “physio near me” or “back pain chiropractor”. Three clinics show up on the map. We work to make yours one of them, and to make sure the visit gets booked.
This is for solo clinics that are hard to find, growing practices that want more of the patients they like treating, multi-location groups that need each site found locally, and new clinics starting with no history online.
What we found when we looked at clinic sites
- 4,348 homepages. Our November 2026 scan covered 3,886 physio and 462 chiro homepages in Canada, the US, the UK and Australia.
- 66% of physio and 70% of chiro sites showed no review feed or star rating.
- 33% of physio and 26% of chiro sites had no online booking we could find.
- 58% of physio and 65% of chiro sites showed an email address on the homepage.
A patient searching nearby is ready to book
Local searches come from people with a problem today, and they rarely read past the first screen. Their back hurts, their knee gave out at the weekend, their child’s headaches have not stopped. They look at the map, scan a few names, check the stars and tap the one that looks right. Being visible matters. Being chosen matters more.
Local search works on three things at once.
1. Your Google profile
It is what patients see first, on the map and beside your name. Accurate, complete and active beats thin and out of date.
2. Your pages
Google needs a specific page to show for a specific search. “Sciatica physio” needs a sciatica page, not a list.
3. Your reputation
Recent, genuine reviews help patients choose and help your profile. They are part of the picture, not an extra.
Local SEO for every kind of clinic
What you do first depends on where you are. A clinic with no history needs a different start from one with ten years of half-finished listings, and a group of locations needs a different structure from a single room. We begin with the check-up, then match the work to your stage.
1. New clinics
There is no history, so we start with a complete Google profile, correct details across the web and a page for each treatment you offer. The goal is to be findable and credible from the first week.
2. Solo and small clinics
You may have a profile that was claimed years ago and never touched. We tidy it, add a booking link and write pages for your three most common problems.
3. Growing practices
You added practitioners and services, but the website still describes the clinic you had. We add pages for each new service and practitioner so the right patient finds the right person.
4. Multi-location groups
Each location needs its own profile, its own page and its own real detail. Copying the same text with the town swapped does not help patients or search. We build each one properly.
5. Fix in place
If you already pay an SEO person, we do not replace them for the sake of it. The audit shows what is working and what is not.
What local SEO covers
The work is small in each part and steady across all of them. None of it is a trick. It is the basics, done completely and kept current, which many clinics have never had time to do.
1. Google profile set-up and tidy
Categories, services, hours, description, photos and attributes, all checked and corrected. It is set up in your clinic’s name, and you stay the owner.
2. A booking link on your profile
A patient can book from search or the map without calling. Add a booking button to your profile.
3. Pages for conditions and treatments
A clear page for each main thing you treat, starting with the three you see most. Each says what you do, who it is for and how to book.
4. Pages for each area you serve
Real details for each location or area: how to get there, parking, nearby streets, who works there. Not the same text with a new town name.
5. Consistent details everywhere
Name, address and phone number matching across your site, profile and the directories patients use. Mismatches make search engines less sure of you.
6. A plan for reviews
A calm, regular way to ask, and a way to reply. More on reviews.
Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.
The details behind pages that rank and book
This is where many clinics get stuck. A thin page does not help anyone. A good page reads like a clinician explaining the problem to a worried person across the desk, then showing them how to book. Here is what separates the two.
1. One problem per page
Back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches and sports injuries each get their own address and heading. A visitor who searched for one should land on a page about it.
2. What happens at the first visit
Time, questions, the exam and what the patient leaves with. This is what nervous patients most want to know, and many sites skip it. Service pages that rank.
3. Honest length
A page should be as long as it needs to be to answer the question. Usually that is a few hundred words, not a few thousand.
4. Local detail that is true
The suburb, the parking, the transit stop, the practitioner who sees this most. Details only you can write.
5. Plain links between pages
Condition pages link to practitioner pages and to booking. Visitors and search engines can follow a clear path.
6. No copy-and-paste
Pages that repeat each other with one word changed do not help. We write each one for its subject.
The pages and assets we prepare
You approve all of it, and nothing goes live without that. You know your patients better than we do, so we ask you questions, draft from your answers and change anything that does not sound like your clinic.
1. Condition and treatment pages
Drafted in plain language, reviewed against your regulator’s advertising guidance and sent to you for approval.
2. Google profile text
Your description, service descriptions and photo captions, written to say what you actually do. Google profile checklist.
3. Location pages
For each area or site, details a real patient would use.
4. Answers to common questions
Short answers on your profile and pages for the questions patients actually ask: do you direct bill, do I need a referral, what should I wear.
The platforms and tools we work with
Only the ones we really work with.
- Google Business Profile. Your profile is managed in your clinic’s name.
- Google Analytics and Search Console. To see which searches bring visits.
- Jane and Cliniko booking. We work with Jane and Cliniko. Using something else? Tell us and we’ll say whether we can help.
- WordPress, Squarespace and Wix. We add and edit pages on the platform you already have.
We have no partnership with Google, Jane or Cliniko.
Search only matters if the visit gets booked
A report full of keyword positions does not fill a schedule. We care about a shorter chain: search, find you, trust you, book.
1. A booking button on every page
Every condition page and your profile point to booking, high up and on a phone.
2. Pages that match the search
A patient searching for “headache treatment” lands on a page about it, not the homepage.
3. Trust beside the button
Real photos, practitioner names and reviews where your regulator allows them, placed near the booking button.
4. Fast on a phone
A slow page loses the visitor before they read it. We keep the pages light.
5. We count what matters
Calls from Google, booking requests, new reviews and where you appear for the searches that matter. How reporting works.
How local SEO works with us
Six steps, and you decide at each.
1. Marketing audit
We search for your clinic the way a new patient does and check your profile and pages. You get a short written report. What’s in it.
2. A fixed plan
We quote the work in writing, after the check-up and before you sign. It names the pages and profile changes included.
3. We set up and write
We fix the profile, draft the pages and prepare the booking links. Plan on a few hours of your time, mostly for photos and checking facts.
4. You approve
You read every page and every change to your profile. Nothing goes live without your say.
5. Launch
We publish the pages and update the profile, then check that everything matches.
6. Monthly care, if you want it
Optional and month to month. How we work.
Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.
What ongoing local SEO looks like
Fixing a Google profile can show an effect within weeks. New pages usually take longer to settle, and depend on your area and your competition. We will not promise a ranking or a number of patients, because nobody honest can. We promise the work, done properly, and a report that shows what moved.
Monthly care can include:
- Keeping hours, holidays and details current
- Adding new condition and location pages
- Answering questions and posting real updates on your profile
- A routine for review requests and replies
- Checking that details still match across the web
- One plain monthly report, and what we are changing if a number is flat
Why clinics work with us
1. Built for independent clinics
We work with independent clinics, physio and chiro first, plus dental and optometry, so the pages and profile read like your world, not a generic business.
2. Our own scan of 4,348 clinic sites
We counted how real clinics handle booking, reviews and offers. We know where the gaps are.
3. You own every account
Your Google profile, domain and website are in your clinic’s name. If you leave, you keep your domain, website content, Google profile and accounts. Anything licensed from a third party stays under its own terms.
4. Nothing goes live without your approval
Every page and profile change is yours to approve first.
5. Plain monthly reports
One page, in words you can read between patients.
6. We check against regulator rules
Page copy is read against your regulator’s published guidance and risky wording flagged. This is not legal advice.
If your clinic is hard to find, something’s missing
Usually it is one of a few fixable things.
1. The profile is half empty
Missing categories, no services, no photos, old hours. Google has little to work with and patients have little reason to tap.
2. No booking link on the profile
A patient has to phone, so some do not bother. We add an appointment link.
3. One services page for everything
It answers none of the searches patients type. We write a page for each main condition.
4. Details that disagree
Different phone numbers or hours on the site, profile and directories. We make them match.
5. Few recent reviews
Some clinics have reviews from years ago and nothing since. We set up a steady, rule-following way to ask.
6. Copied location pages
Pages that swap only the town name. We write each from real local detail.
Questions owners ask
Can you get us to number one?
No one can promise that, and anyone who does is guessing. We make sure the basics are right, then work on the searches that bring patients who book.
How long does local SEO take?
Booking and Google profile fixes can show results in weeks. Rankings for condition and location pages usually take months and depend on your area and your competition.
Do we need a blog?
Not necessarily. Condition pages and a strong profile usually come first. Guides help when they answer questions your patients really ask.
We already have an SEO person. Do you replace them?
Not if they are doing the job. The audit tells you what is and isn’t working, and we will say so if your current setup is fine.
What about advertising rules?
We check page copy against your regulator’s advertising guidance and flag anything that looks risky. This is not legal advice, and you approve everything.
Do you manage our Google profile?
We set it up and look after it in your clinic’s name. You stay the owner and can see everything we change.
How many condition pages do we need?
Start with the three you see most and do them well. Add more later. A few good pages beat a dozen thin ones.
Can we show reviews on our site?
That depends on your regulator. Where it is allowed, we place them near your booking button. Show Google reviews on your website.
What if we have more than one location?
Each location gets its own profile and page with its own details.
Do you write reviews for us?
Never. We help you ask every patient in a way that follows the rules, and we draft replies for your approval.
Do we need to change booking software?
No. We work with Jane and Cliniko. Using something else? Tell us in the form and we’ll say whether we can help.
Is this a long contract?
No. After the fixed one-off work, ongoing care is month to month.
